Description

Loosely translated as the 'open arms' program, Cheiu Hoi was designed to encourage defections from the Viet Cong to the south during the Vietnam War. Among the other propaganda leaflets dropped, US soldiers were issued these plastic bags to cover their magazines. With a basic seal tape removal you could keep your magazines dry without deteriorating from the intense jungle moisture. You could then rip one open to reload and the ditched bag would be left behind for any fence sitters to ponder over defecting later.

Definitely a interesting piece of history from the Vietnam War and a great piece for any collectors.

  • Genuine US Army surplus
  • 'Open arms' Vietnamese print
