Australia entered the Vietnam war with the antiquated 37 pattern webbing system which was recognized as being completely unsuitable for modern warfare. Initially the Australian army bought American M56 webbing as replacements but later on started manufacturing it themselves. The only real difference on these H-suspenders that marks them as Australian is the arrow head markings.
Shaped like a capital 'H' the M56 system better distributes weight across your shoulders than its previous counterparts. The hooks on the ends of the straps hook into a regular M56 belt with eyelets and can be fully adjusted on your front and back. The shoulder areas have a light amount of padding for added comfort and a loop on each for attaching the likes of first aid pouches or other equipment. A great set for Vietnam war collectors or someone looking to build the foundations of a web-set for hunting, airsoft or paintball.
