Nobody plans to have a disaster, but planning ahead incase one happens is a wise move. These emergency ration bars are produced in Norway and have been used all over the world for humanitarian relief. With a shelf life of up to 7 years in ideal conditions from manufacture date, these will be there for you when you need them most.
Each box comes with 9 bars (when taken out of the paper, split into 2 tablets for a total of 18). The boxes contents are vacuum sealed in waterproof wrapping incase your stuck in wet conditions. The bars can be eaten alone and are pretty plain tasting - but would be more than edible in a survival situation. For young children or people without teeth (but NOT infants under 6 months) you can add a bit of hot water to turn it into a porridge like meal.
Stay prepared today and keep some of these in the house, a bug out bag, car or boat - these will still be waiting for you long after disaster strikes.

Was planning to bring these on a hike, but they did not arrive on time.
The package is compact and has some weight to it, but appears good for storage with all the protections it has.
I think the taste is very good, I'd recommend using it as a snack, outdoor food and even for emergencies.
Would stash more of them, as they are really good for what they are designed for - have them for situations but also can serve as snacks.
I ate some. I felt less hungry. These really work.
I kind of wish they were in smaller packets inside the big packet, because to even just taste one you have to open the entire lot. Inside they are wrapped in paper, so you couldn't really open the packaging and then stash the individual portions in pockets and bags. Very crumbly, and the paper is just wrapped not sealed.
Taste: I have tasted worse emergency bars. These are as dry as the rest of them, but aren't attempting to me lemony or anything. The taste of wholemeal flour and a bit of sugar, with palm oil holding it all together (barely). With a coffee I actually found half of a half (i.e. quarter of a paper-wrapped portion) to be a fairly pleasant afternoon tea at work. I kept the rest in a ziplock bag. Without anything to drink your mouth will feel dry afterwards and it will stick in your teeth a bit. In an emergency, you can keep some in your molars to sustain you throughout the day.
I am about to buy a second packet.
