Description
The USGI M-1943 Field Jacket is a surplus four-pocket field jacket featuring lined hip pockets and a straightforward construction without a liner attachment system. This example is sized 38R, weighs approximately 1.2 kg, and has an unknown date of manufacture.
Introduced to replace the earlier M-1941 field jacket, this model set the precedent for all future US field jackets and influenced many other militaries worldwide. The M-1943 saw service in the later stages of World War II and continued into the 1950s during the Korean War.
