Description

A fundamental component within the Austrian Army boot repertoire are these robust alpine boots. The Bundesheer undeniably possess one of the most esteemed lineages in the realm of alpine warfare, so you know their boots are going to be tough.

These boots strike a remarkable equilibrium between classic boot design and sturdiness, incorporating contemporary elements such as swift lacing mechanisms that enhance their versatility.

Internally, these boots boast a lavish interior entirely swathed in top-tier, glove-like leather, while their external shell is fashioned from a resilient full-grain cowhide. Austrian boots have garnered a reputation for enduring multiple deployments, whether passed on to the succeeding cohort of trainees or, due to recent legislative alterations, carried home as cherished mementos by their wearers.

Features:

  • Genuine Austrian Army surplus
  • Padded Collar
  • 2mm full-grain leather
  • Insulated leather lining
  • Gusseted tongue
  • Partially perforated ankle vents allow perspiration to escape while preserving the internal environment
  • Reinforced toe cap
  • D-rings + hook-style speed lacing grommets

Sizing: UK shoe sizes are the same as NZ/AU. Some of these boots have a narrow sole - if you typically fit a 'wide' sole boot, you may not fit these. For more information on sizing, visit our sizing guide and scroll to the shoe section

Very comfy, mean looks, fast shipping.

my girlfriend adores them, they're aggressive and sexy but incredibly comfy to walk in.

They're heavy but very well built, warm and secure when laced up too.

I did need to fit new insoles, along with new laces and a good condition, but these cleaned up beautifully, the soles are a little worn but have plenty of life left before needing replacement.

Very comfy, mean looks, fast shipping.

Picked these up last week, they arrived within days, and with a new insole and some conditioning they're probably the comfiest footwear I own other than my sneakers, I had no idea boots like this could be so soft and accomodating.

they look mean, my girlfriend adores them lol.

the soles on mine look a bit rough but still have plenty of life in them, they're goodyear welted too so I will get them replaced eventually.

    Excellent boots for trekking

I’ve taken these boots out a few times since receiving them a week ago, including a few hikes around Vedauwoo (Wyoming) and trekking in the Comanche Peak Wilderness (Colorado).

They’ve held up perfectly through boulders, scree, mud, snow, and stream crossings. Very watertight and warm, especially with the addition of gaiters.

I definitely recommend giving them a break-in with some good Lycra or merino sock liners and moleskin on hand, as I was getting some hotspots on the back of my heels the first couple uses. Investing in some good insoles is a must.

Overall, an excellent boot choice for rough terrain and heavy loads!

Thanks so much for the fantastic review!

We're really glad to hear the Alpine Ranger Boots have held up so well through those challenging conditions around Vedauwoo and the Comanche Peak Wilderness. Sounds like they've proven themselves on some seriously rough terrain with all those boulders, scree, and stream crossings!

It's great that you've shared some solid advice about breaking them in properly with good socks and moleskin — that's really helpful feedback for other customers getting their first pair. And thanks for highlighting that investing in quality insoles makes a real difference too.

We're stoked to hear you're impressed with how watertight and warm they've been, especially with gaiters added to the mix. It sounds like you've found a boot that's going to serve you well on future adventures.

Thanks again for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback and for choosing these boots for your treks!

Great boots. First time buyer from here. These things fit very well and still have a tonne of life in em. Of course, you need to get new insoles and wear decent socks, but overall its very solid.
