Unofficially known as the Maple Leaf and l'Unifolié (French for "the one-leafed"), the Canadian flag consists of a red field with a white square at its centre, and then right in the middle is the familiar red 11 pointed maple leaf. This flag was adopted in 1965 after the Great Flag Debate of 1964.
