As the successor to the M60 hats worn by the Czechoslovakian army, the M85 field cap ditched the 'needle' pattern in favour of a plain olive drab colour. A few upgrades were made, including a more durable poly/cotton fabric, ventilation holes on the front, and better overall construction quality. The cap retains the ear flaps which can be buttoned overhead or around the chin for sun and wind protection.
This cap is not insulated for use in warm weather. A fine era for Czechoslovakian headwear with good style and quality. These were replaced in the 1990's with a camouflaged patrol cap. Lucky for you, this cap is still available at a low surplus price. Cheap Czech outdoor headwear for your next sunny adventure.
