The waist strap to minimise "flapping" does what it's supposed to. FYI there's also a small (about 1cm) circular hole at the base of the bag - great for draining water but not so great if you intend to keep small items inside.

Some may find that this bag isn't so good-looking, but I think it's a thing of beauty. Perhaps a new fishing bag!
