Shield-shaped presentation plaque with a polished wooden backing and a raised Royal Australian Regiment crest mounted centrally. The crest has a blue field with coloured insignia, gold-tone edging and a metal scroll beneath marked “1st Battalion”.

The upper metal plate is engraved “TO B COY 2nd/1st RNZIR EX SWIFT EAGLE 87”. Rear hanging hardware is fitted to the wooden backing.
