These functional and good looking German jackets are getting harder to find! An inoffensive colour that doesn't look out of place in the street (sorry flecktarn), toasty liner and plenty of pockets - can't really go wrong with that.

The Bunderswehr nailed it with this one, the classic West German OD Parka, up there with the US M65 as a cultural icon. With a detachable faux-fur liner, this parka has year round versatility - warm in winter and looking cool in the warmer months with liner removed.

The outer garment is constructed of a high quality 100% industrial grade but high thread count cotton. The removable button-in lining is thick and provides ample warmth on the coldest of Australian winter days. All heavy grade buttons are are stitched and wound with a high grade heavy gauge thread to ensure catch resistance during hard field wear. Fit is on the large side and the garment can therefore accommodate additional thick layering beneath - jumpers, thick moleskin shirt or the like. This should be taken into account if purchasing for use in warmer months as an outer shell only garment. This garment offers a unique twist in the classic M65 look with retracted lower front pockets and a thick hood which falls to the rear when not in use but cannot be rolled and zipped or buttoned into a collar. So too, the colour is a variation to the commonly identifiable US M65 olive drab, instead holding a classic duller and inoffensive olive characteristic of european military to the extent that the garment may be mistaken for a high quality but we'll used civilian coat. Overall, a very durable and robust garment of a type which is unavailable in the fast fashion civilian retail context. This garment is a 'buy once, keep forever' type of purchase.

Great Qualirty Garment

Sizing runs on the shorter size.
187 height and 'tall' has slightly shorter sleeves than would be ideal,
Out of stock for extra tall, so I'm happy enough with my purchase.
