The flag of Guatemala was adopted in 1871. The design is quite simple - the two blue strips symbolize the two oceans that surround the nation. The white represents peace and purity. In the centre of the flag is the Guatemalan coat of arms.
The flag has a white strip on the side with two metal eyelets.
