Description

Classic on classic with the US M81 woodland camouflage M65 jacket - nice. Introduced into US military service in 1965, the M-65 jacket has become a cultural icon. We don't really need to mention how well used (and copied) US Woodland is. Pack those two powerhouses together and you've got this awesome jacket.

With a dense construction from a cotton/nylon twill, windbreaking is a dream. And if it's cold out, these accept M65 button in liners, if you have one. A thin, fabric stowable hood (low bulk) is in the zip closed collar ready for those unexpected rain showers but these will also accept heftier button on M65 hoods. Draw cords to waist hood & hem ensure a snug fit. These were so good, US departments across the forces issued them - see the last picture! As these have done the rounds, some jackets may be patched, some may have patches removed (our stellar warehouse team will pick these at random).

Bolster your M81 addiction with this fine addition!  Everyone needs a good jacket anyway.

    Superb

Perfect condition- nicely worn in. Arrived promptly as always from A&O. I've got a couple of OD green M65s but this one, despite being woodland camo still works on the street for some reason. Problem is, I always buy this stuff intending to use it in the bush... but then I like it too much and use it round town instead. Happy!

    M-65 ?

Sirs, I doubt this M-65 is "genuine U.S Army surplus "I have another M-65 , in Olive Drab from the 70's. and it is a very different jacket. For starters, the hood is of a waterproof material, not the 50/50 fabric of the jacket. Its has a YKK brass zip, common to all genuine M-65 jackets. All the stitching on the jacket is a double run, there are ventilation ports under the arms, and the velcro neck band reaches to its attachment point on the opposite collar, unlike the one a bought from Army and Outdoors. Also, on the genuine M-65, the draw cords are elasticated , thick green elastic cord.

If this is , a genuine U.S Issue garment, then the Mil Spec has really bitten the dust back in the U.S.

Otherwise, the jacket is OK , but the West German Parkas you sell, are a very good price for the high quality genuine service garment they are, and they come with the liner.

Your service, as always, is impeccable.

    Hi Paul,

Thanks for taking the time to leave such a detailed review.

We can confirm that the M-65 jacket you received is indeed genuine. That said, there can definitely be noticeable differences between jackets depending on the year of issue, contract, and manufacturer. The U.S. military issued M-65s over several decades, and multiple contractors produced them to spec, which can result in variations in materials, zippers (including brands like YKK or Scovill), drawcord types, stitching, and even the hood fabric.

We’re really glad to hear you’ve had great experiences with our service and with the West German parkas, thanks again for your support!

    Very nice jacket, genuine

The jacket is very nice is colder weather and feels pretty breathable, the jacket is genuine even coming with some of the old patches, however where some of the patches were picked off (the name) is fabric is a bit damaged
