Description
USGI M-1951 field jacket in a medium-long size. This is the predecessor to the later M-65 jacket. It features wool-lined hip pockets, buttons for attaching a liner, and a lightweight hood that tucks away when not in use.
First introduced during the tail end of the Korean War, these jackets were designed to replace the older M-1943 model, which was no longer suitable for colder climates. This particular jacket is the Korean War model but has subdued name and US Army tapes, indicating likely use during the late 1960s to 1970s.
