Description
USGI M-1951 field jacket in surplus condition. This jacket features wool-lined hip pockets, buttons for attaching a liner, and buttons to secure a lightweight hood.
There is a small hole in the left front of the jacket. The left cuff button is missing and the right cuff button is broken. First introduced during the tail end of the Korean War, these were designed to replace the older M-1943 that were no longer fit for purpose in colder climates. This particular jacket is the Korean War model however has a subdued name and US Army tapes so likely saw use in the late 60s to 70s.
