This type of utility strap was used by British forces during WWII. These particular straps were manufactured post war but retain the same versatile design. Made from cotton canvas with a metal buckle on one end and tab on the other. Coming in the classic olive drab colour, it will match a large range of military gear. 

Trampers can use a couple of these straps to attach a tent or sleeping mat to the outside of their pack. Hunters and airsoft players could attach extra ammo pouches to their webbing.
