Description

These British Army pull-overs (or woolly pully from back in the day) were originally designed in WWII and issued to the British SAS and Bomber Command. The design was so popular that iterations are still being manufactured in modern times, such as the ones we have here. Also known as a 'Commando Sweater' in North America. Though British speaking countries of the world generally stick to the use of 'jumper' or 'jersey'.

Worn by many military personnel from WWII up until the present day. Truly a timeless and popular design. They are a comfortable rib knit sweater with a snug, yet stretchy fit for good freedom of movement. Made from moisture wicking and warm wool. Durable poly/cotton reinforcements protect the elbows, forearms and shoulder areas that will add years of good hard use to the jumper.

Features:

  • Genuine British Army Jersey
  • Rib knit wool
  • Shoulder, elbow, and forearm reinforcements
  • Shoulder epaulettes
  • Stretchy fabric for ease of movement

Snug as a bug

Just arrived! Jumper in excellent condition, no quibbles on that point.
Talk about snug. I'm a 94cm chest - tall and slim- the 100cm jersey is super snug and form fitting to the point of not being able to wear much under it. Consider a couple of sizes larger if you like some room to move and want wear anything under it.

The Not So Drab British Army Jersey

Excellent! Starting looking for one when the realised they were available. I had an issued on in the Aussie Army, unfortunately it was taken back when the new 'better: high tech soft fleece was issued, what a disaster!

Always loved wearing my issued one and the one I brought is just as nice to wear.

Very warm. Also quite a fashion statement in Aus as so uncommon. Nice firm fitting, yet flexible knit.

Try finding a high quality pure wool sweater for $60?

I won't ever be handing this one in!

Army and RAF jumpers

I purchased two of these Army jumpers a couple of years ago and more recently a couple of the RAF blue/grey jumpers. They wear very well and they are so comfortable, I throw them into the washing machine with all my other gear, wash and spin and they come out looking like new. I initially purchased them to wear as work jumpers but they look so good on, that I wear them as casual as I thought they were too good to ruin at work. I am waiting for the Royal Navy jumpers to arrive, there are plenty available on Ebay but way to expensive, in my opinion.
