USGI ACU Individual First Aid Kit

The Individual First-Aid Kit (IFAK) is issued by the US Army to provide soldiers with medical equipment. These kits are designed to attached to webbing via MOLLE straps for use on the field. Primarily, IFAKs are used to stop severe bleeding wounds from bullets or shrapnel. An insert is placed inside the pouch which holds bandages, dressings and other components of the medical kit securely. This is used with the Army Combat Uniform (ACU) and hence comes in the Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP).

As a civilian, you're hopefully not encountering wounds from bullets and explosions, though that doesn't mean these inserts aren't useful. You could use it as a home med-kit, keep it in your vehicle, or attach it to your rucksack.
